A8: Medical Respite: Addressing a Critical Need

Medical Respite provides medical care for people experiencing homelessness who are too ill or frail to recover from illness or injury on the streets but are not ill enough to be in a hospital. In Pittsburgh and York County, homeless providers, hospital staff and street outreach workers have come together to address this critical need in their communities and recently opened local respite facilities. They will share what they have learned.
