E3: Utility Basics for Housing Advocates

This session will cover the basics of utility law for new and seasoned housing advocates. Presenters will address applicable standards for utility billing, collections, and terminations, and will explain how low income households can avoid common issues that threaten their ability to connect with and maintain electric, natural gas, and water service. Presenters will also cover the eligibility requirements and benefits available through state-wide and utility-specific assistance programs as well as effective advocacy to make these resources more available.
